Hamburg: Not the perfect crime

While on the subject of felines… A thief grabbed a suitcase from two old ladies strolling in a Hamburg cemetery and ran away, unaware he had stolen a dead cat. The distressed ladies explained to police they were planning to give the cat a proper burial in a corner of the cemetery.

Australia: Anyone for cat stew?

Meanwhile, in Australia, where tastes are somewhat more basic, feral cats are on the menu in a bush food competition in Alice Springs.

The competition requires people to use ingredients found in the Australian bush – including wild animals.

Children’s book author and entrant Kay Kessing says cats can taste great.

“It’s a white meat, they vary a lot; the first cat I cooked didn’t have a strong flavour and I put a lot of ingredients with it and that made a beautiful stew,” she said.

But Ms Kessing draws the line at cooking cats. “It should always be wild cats…And we should be eating donkeys and horse meat like the French do.”

My suggestion is that Ms. Kessing should stick here nose a bit more outside of her home-country before launching such nonsense! I think she is a fairytale-writer, known for cruelties.
